Summer 2018

Fun in the Sun will be running for 8 weeks, starting June 25th and ending August 16th. It will run Monday through Thursday, with Thursdays being an off-site field trip. Please see information below for camp day options, prices, and field trip information:

Weekly Themes Include (with field trip):

Week 1, June 25-28: The Animal Kingdom (Cape May Zoo)

Week 2, July 2-5 (Closed 7/4):  Lost in Space (Rowan Planetarium/Estell Manor Park)

Week 3, July 9-12:  Mad Science (Franklin Institute)

Week 4, July 16-19:  Down on the Farm (Johnson's Farm)

Week 5, July 23-26:  Backyard Explorers- Wetlands & Beaches (Cape May Whale Watch & Research Center 2-Hour Dolphin Cruise)

Week 6, July 30-August 2:  Under the Sea (Camden Adventure Aquarium)

Camp Day Options Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays:

Full Day: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm- $40

AM ½ Day: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm- $25

PM ½ Day: 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm- $25

AM Extended: 7:00 am to 8:00 am- $3

PM Extended: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm- $5


Thursday Field Trips:

Full Day option ONLY- $60, camper must attend offsite field trip if registered on Thursdays.

Fun in the Sun Extended Camp Weeks (August 6th-August 16th):

These additional 2 weeks of camp will be a lighter enrichment version of the previous 6 weeks of camp.  However, your child will still experience a variety of hands-on activities and fun events on Thursdays.  Thursdays for these last two weeks will not have offsite field trips, but instead will have fun and special events that take place onsite at Miller School (more information about these special Thursday events will be released in the near future). Pricing for these two weeks are as follows (the only changes are to the onsite Thursday camp days which will offer ½ day and full day options and have altered prices):

Week 7- Adventures in Gaming

Monday, August 6 to Thursday, August 9

Full Day Monday through Wednesday- $40 per day

AM & PM ½ Day Monday through Thursday- $25 per day

Thursday Full Day Special Event- $45 per day (details to follow)

AM Extended 7:00 am to 8:00 am- $3 per day

PM Extended 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm- $5 per day

Week 8- Water Extravaganza

Monday, August 13 to Thursday, August 16

Full Day Monday through Wednesday- $40 per day

AM & PM ½ Day Monday through Thursday- $25 per day

Thursday Full Day Special Event- $45 per day (details to follow)

AM Extended 7:00 am to 8:00 am- $3 per day

This summer, Fun in the Sun will also offer a Coding and Computer Science component for campers ages 12-14! 
The Coding and Computer Science class will be offered for 5 weeks, Monday through Thursday, starting June 25th and ending July 19th.

Campers in Fun in the Sun Coding and Computer Science can enroll weekly or for all 5 weeks, starting on the Mondays listed below:
Week 1, June 25th:  12 pm to 2:00 pm- $100 
Week 2, July 2nd: No session July 4th for holiday observance:  12 pm to 2:00 pm- $75
Week 3, July 9th: 12 pm to 2:00 pm- $100
Week 4, July 16th: 12 pm to 2:00 pm- $100
Week 5, July 23rd: 12 pm to 2:00 pm- $100

Participating in ASPIRE this summer?
Join Fun in the Sun at 1:30 pm when ASPIRE ends at a prorated price of $12 per day!  Your child will be walked from ASPIRE to Fun in the Sun by staff, and will be able to continue in enrichment activities and games being offered that afternoon through Fun in the Sun.  

    **Prices cover new enrichment activities, bus transportation, event admission, food and water, and staff coverage for all days of camp.

The location of Fun in the Sun will be at Miller School. 

Meal Information:
Students will be provided with free breakfast and lunch every camp day, including field trip days, for the 6 weeks of camp.  Some accommodations can be made for campers with food allergies.  Campers may bring their own bag lunch if preferred.
  Students will also be provided with an afternoon snack.

Enrichment Activities:
This summer, your child will also participate in more hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) enrichment activities that will allow them to continue their learning through discovery-based activities while they have fun!  Activities may included, but not limited to:  coding/computer science, reading enrichment activities, mad science and nature exploration, arts and crafts, sports and wellness, team and character building games, and much more!
